The people behind Formula-Y.
A small team combining platform engineering with deep immunology, genomics and bioinformatics, building fast, dependable antibody discovery from Groningen, the Netherlands.
We design antibodies in silico and validate them with partners.
Our mission is to empower researchers and biotech teams to accelerate antibody discovery through high-performance in-silico and in-vitro pipelines optimised for speed and reliability. Our vision is to offer the fastest antibody discovery services in the world.
From a feasibility question to a working design model.
Each step has been supported by regional and European innovation programmes: SNN, the Just Transition Fund and the European Union.
The question
Could therapeutic antibodies be designed computationally, before any wet-lab work, and could that be turned into a real service? A structured feasibility study begins under SNN's MIT Haalbaarheid scheme.
The verdict
The study concludes that AI-driven antibody design is both technically feasible and economically viable, and recommends building a proof-of-concept. Read the study →
The first decision
A second feasibility study, MIT Haalbaarheid 2025, examines whether AI can make target identification faster, cheaper and more systematic. Read more →
The proof of concept
Under VIA Groningen 2025 to 2026, Formula-Y is building and testing the proof of concept for its AI-driven antibody design, the foundation of the design service. Follow the project →
